After an extensive vetting process, the Independence Caucus has endorsed my candidacy for the US House. They support grassroots candidates that stand for limited government, fiscal responsibility, adherence to Constitutional Authority, and a commitment to representing the people and not the political establishment or special interests.
I'm pleased to announce that I've been added to LIBERTY SLATE 2010. This organization identifes those U.S. House candidates that share their dedication to the Constitutional principles of limited government, individual liberty, and personal responsibility. There aren't many candidates that make it on this list - I consider it a privilege. I would like to recognize the man that has been leading the charge to unseat Bob Etheridge for the past few years: Dan Mansell. Dan, a successful businessman himself, ran against Etheridge despite Obama-mania during the last election. He didn't shy away from the hard fight. He knows as well as anyone about the challenges facing the 2nd District. When I first considered a run to take back our US House seat from Etheridge, I reached out to Dan. As we got to know one another, he's offered wise counsel and I've come to have even greater respect for him. While Dan opted to not run for office, he has officially announced his endorsement for my campaign. I would like to express my thanks for that vote of confidence as well as his excellent introduction last night in Johnston County. Dan, I won't let you down. If you've talked to me for more than a few minutes you know my disdain for business-as-usual in D.C. and career politicians like Bob Etheridge (who is campaigning for his 16th year in Congress); they are disconnected from their constituents and seek to govern us rather than represent us. I want to reform that broken system of government. On Feb 19th, 2010, Todd Gailas has made it official; he filed with the NC State Board of Elections in his bid to give the citizens of North Carolina's Second District a real voice in Washington. On 6 Feb 2010, the Gailas for Congress campaign launched a new Web site to keep North Carolinians better informed of our activities and to solicit your input. Please let us know your thoughts and concerns as we strive to return the US House of Representatives to the citizens of our great nation in 2010. Todd Gailas to officially announce run for US Congressional seat in North Carolina's 2nd district. Feb 6th at Republican Roundup in Cumberland County. |
